On March 3, 2024, the residents of the canton of Zurich will vote on the two runway extensions at Zurich Airport.

The current runway system has been in place for over 50 years and no longer meets the airport’s safety and operational requirements. The extension of the two runways will improve safety and increase efficiency, which will inevitably lead to a reduction in delays. Opponents always associate this project with an increase in capacity, but this does not correspond to the facts. IG Air Cargo supports the proposal simply because of the economic importance of an efficient airport, also for air cargo. – www.pisten-verlaengerung.ch
