On Wednesday, May 7, 2025, more than 40 members and guests met at the Kunstmuseum Berne for the Annual General Assembly 2025. In these turbulent and hectic times, we wanted to take a short break and immerse ourselves in the world of art. After the official part, we enjoyed a guided tour through the exhibition of the Italian artist Carol Rama where were inspired by her artworks before enjoying a delicious aperitif riche and good conversation.

As previously announced, the previous president of the Basel section, Gian Alessi, has decided with a heavy heart to resign from EXCOM and from the presidency of IGAC Basel and its board. The reasons for this are purely time-related, as his numerous commitments have left him little time. At the same time, the former President of IGAC ZRH and current EXCOM member, Martin Pierre Theiler, has also announced his resignation. He will be taking on a global role within the company. They were both given an official farewell and the whole air cargo community thanks them from the bottom of our hearts for their many years of commitment and support.

As every two years, elections were held again this year. The President, Vice-President and the Auditors and Controller had to be confirmed or elected by the General Assembly. With the exception of the replacement for the Vice President, following the departure of Gian Alessi, all existing members stood for re-election. The General Assembly unanimously elected or re-elected the following members for their functions on the national level:

• Gerry Zurmühle – President
• Andreas Behnke – Vice President  
• Alex Stare – Auditor
• Nenad Gvozdenovic – Controller

We would all like to congratulate those elected and thank them for their valuable contribution.

Thanks to the good mood among all participants and a unique leisure program, the Annual General Assembly 2025 turned again into a successful event.
